Filmotech is an initiative of the Netherlands Feature Film Association (NVS), the EYE Film Institute Netherlands and the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision.
The initiative is being supported by the Netherlands Film Fund, the Netherlands Film Festival (NFF), the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR), the Dutch Directors Guild, the Dutch network of script writers, the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) and the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
Through the NVS Filmotech has a direct relationship with Dutch film and documentary producers. The EYE Film Institute Netherlands is the largest and most important centre for cinematography in the Netherlands. It has a collection of film under trust that encompasses the whole Dutch film history: from the silent movies from the early ages of cinema (late 19th century) up to the newest digital productions. The Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision is a cultural-historical organization that collects and conserves the national audio-visual heritage and makes it accessible for as many users as possible. The Image and Sound collection consists of 700.000 hours of image and sound (including TV-series, TV films and documentaries): a total of more than 70% of all audio-visual archive material in the Netherlands.
